Dr. Manik Chopra is recognized as the first and most experienced structural heart disease interventionist and TAVR/ TAVI specialist in Gujarat, and among one of the leading experts in India. He leads the structural heart disease interventions program at Narayana Multispeciality Hospital, Ahmedabad, where the team has achieved multiple firsts in transcatheter heart valve interventions in Gujarat, including:
• Mitral valve therapies: TMVR and M-TEER using MitraClip
• Pulmonary valve therapies: TPVR/TPVI
• Tricuspid and Caval therapies: Caval valve implantation (CAVI) with the TricValve
• Aortic valve therapies: TAVR/ TAVI in bicuspid aortic valve, TAVR/ TAVI in valve-in-valve with valve fracture and TAVR/ TAVI with cerebral embolic protection
The program attracts patients not only from across Gujarat, but also from states including Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Maharashtra, as well as from foreign countries such as Kenya and Bangladesh.

• He has done/ proctored 900 + TAVR/TAVI and other transcatheter heart valve & structural heart disease interventions since mid-2019 across:
- o 23 countries
- o 90 cities
- o 251 cardiac centres.
• With his experience of 300+ such interventions during his fellowship at Rigshospitalet, Copenhagen, Denmark (2017- 2018); he has a total experience of 1200+ such interventions- one of the largest in India.
• He has done/ proctored 50+ transcatheter mitral valve replacement (TMVR) - valve in valve (VIV), valve in ring (VIR) and transapical cases.
• He has provided his services internationally and has proctored 150+ cases in countries across Europe (Denmark, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, UK, Croatia, Bulgaria, Hungary, and Romania); Asia (China, Russia, UAE, Taiwan, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Philippines, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Bangladesh) and Egypt.
• He also holds the distinction of proctoring the first Myval TAVR cases in Denmark, Italy, Spain, Bulgaria, and Romania.

Experience of 300 + TAVR / TAVI, 80 + LAAO (Left atrial appendage occlusion) and 40 + Mitraclips at Righospitalet, Copenhagen, Denmark.
